A Brasil Terminal Portuário (BTP) está apta a receber navios maiores, a partir das novas profundidades do canal de navegação do Porto de Santos homologadas pela Marinha na tarde desta quinta-feira (03). Seu cais de três berços e 1.108m de extensão foram construídos para profundidades de até 17m. A nova profundidade autorizada impacta positivamente e restabelece maior isonomia competitiva entre os terminais instalados no Porto. Com a homologação, a nova configuração do canal apresenta no trecho 4, onde está instalada a BTP, calado operacional de 12,6 metros (os trechos 1, 2, 3 estão, respectivamente, com 13,2, 13,0 e 12,7 metros). Além disso, seus berços já têm calados operacionais homologados entre 12,8 e 12,9 metros, o que coloca a BTP em equiparação operacional aos demais terminais instalados no Porto. “Estamos satisfeitos com o ganho de calado, e confiantes que, com o contrato emergencial de dragagem definido, a Codesp está com firme propósito de levar todo o canal de navegação à profundidade compatível com o agora homologado para o trecho 1” diz Henry Robinson, diretor-presidente da BTP. Agora, a expectativa da Empresa é de que as obras de dragagem de manutenção, a cargo da Secretaria Especial de Portos (SEP), resultem em novas marcas, com profundidades mínimas de 15 metros. “Estamos confiantes de que a nova licitação para serviços de dragagem no Porto de Santos, tanto de aprofundamento como de manutenção do canal, merecerá total atenção e prioridade por parte do Poder Público, resultando em maior grau de segurança da navegação e confiabilidade por parte dos clientes e armadores que frequentam o Porto. Brazil, Santos, July 4, 2014 – Brasil Terminal Portuário (BTP) is able to receive larger vessels, with the new depths of the navigation channel of the Port of Santos homologated by the Brazilian Navy on Thursday afternoon (3rd,July).The terminal’s quay plus its three berths of 1.108m long were constructed to depths of up to 17m.
The new draft authorized positively impacts BTP and restores high-level of competitive conditions among terminals installed alongside the Port. With the Navy approval, the new channel configuration presents the stretch 4 – where BTP is located – a operating draft of 12.6 meters (section 1, 2 and 3 are, respectively, 13.2, 13.0 and 12, 7m draught). Moreover, BTP quayside has operational drafts already approved between 12.8 and 12.9 meters, which elevate BTP in operational equivalence to other terminals at the Port.
“We are pleased with this new draft conditions and confident that, with the emergency dredging contract already defined, the Port Authority (Codesp) has firm proposal of having sooner all the navigation channel depth compatible with the now approved for the segment 1” says Henry Robinson, CEO of BTP.
Now, the Company expectation is that works of maintenance dredging, in charge of the Ministry of Ports (SEP), resulting in new draughts, with minimum depths of 15 meters.
“We are confident that the new bid for dredging services in the Port of Santos – for both deepening and maintenance of the channel – will have full attention and priority by the government, resulting in a higher safety-level of navigation and reliability on the part of customers and ship-owners who attend the Port.
