Nesta quarta-feira (8), a Brasil Terminal Portuário recebeu o 100º navio conteneiro no Porto de Santos. O navio Agios Dimitrius, que atracou no terminal operado pela BTP, localizado estrategicamente à margem direita do porto, descarregará 924 contêineres.
“Este é um marco significativo para a BTP e que também demonstra os altos índices de desempenho operacional do terminal. Acreditamos que este número poderia ter sido alcançado bem antes caso a dragagem do acesso ao berço e, principalmente, do canal principal de navegação, já estivessem totalmente concluídas. Estávamos prontos para isso, tanto na infraestrutura do terminal e qualificação de pessoal, como também em equipamentos portuários disponíveis”, afirma João Mendes, Diretor de Operações da Brasil Terminal Portuário.
O porta contêiner de bandeira Liberiana, que tem 300 metros de comprimento e capacidade para 6.572 TEU’s, chegou ao terminal às 7 horas. Do total de contêineres a bordo no navio, 61% vêm de Bremehaven (Alemanha), Antuérpia (Bélgica) e Roterdã (Holanda). Os demais são provenientes de outros 24 portos.
A BTP, desde que iniciou as operações comerciais em 14 agosto de 2013, já recebeu 99 navios com operação concluída, e o maior deles foi o Maersk Sydney com 335 metros de comprimento e capacidade para 8.452 TEU’s. A Empresa – que aguarda a conclusão dos serviços de dragagem, relacionados com o aprofundamento do canal de navegação e das bacias de evolução, para começar a receber navios com uma capacidade do mais de 9.000 TEU’s – já operou nesse período a descarga de 31.379 e o embarque de 25.250 contêineres.
On Wednesday, the January 8th, Brasil Terminal Portuário received its 100º container vessel at the Port of Santos. The Agios Dimitrios ship, which docked at the terminal operated by BTP, strategically located on the right bank of the Port, will unload 924 containers.
“This is a significant milestone for BTP, which also demonstrates the high levels of operational performance of the terminal. We believe that this number could have been achieved much earlier if the dredging of the access to the berths and, mainly, of the main navigation channel were already fully completed. We were ready for it, both in terminal infrastructure and our personnel qualification, also in port equipment available”, says João Mendes, Chief Operating Officer of Brasil Terminal Portuário.
The Liberian flag container ship, 300 meters long and capable of 6,572 TEU’s, arrived at the terminal at 7 am. Of the total of containers aboard of the ship, 61% come from Bremerhaven (Germany), Antwerp (Belgium) and Rotterdam (Netherlands). The rest are from other 24 ports.
Since began its commercial operations in 14 August 2013, BTP has already received 99 vessels with operation completed, and the biggest one was the Maersk Sydney with 335 meters in length and capacity of 8,452 TEU’s. The company – which waits for the completion of the dredging services related to the deepening of the navigation channel and the turning basins to start receiving ships with a capacity of more than 9,000 TEU’s – already operated in this period the discharge of 31,379 and loading of 25,250 containers.
