Document reports the container terminal’s progress during 2023 in the environmental, social, and governance pillars.
Santos, October 18, 2024 – Brasil Terminal Portuário (BTP), one of the largest container terminals in South America and a reference in port operations at the Port of Santos, has released its Socio-environmental Report to the market. The document, available on the company’s website for public consultation, reaffirms BTP’s commitment to transparency in the disclosure of information and provides a comprehensive view of its progress in environmental, social, and governance areas during the year 2023.
The report includes, among other topics, the company’s initiatives related to Corporate Governance, Climate Change, Biodiversity Protection, Inclusion and Diversity, and Socio-environmental Responsibility. BTP’s Sustainability and Quality Manager, Elisabete Ramos Orifice, explains that the report not only highlights the important milestones of the past year but also demonstrates the company’s engagement with the ESG Agenda. “ESG is in our essence. It has been present since the beginning of our journey, guides our current actions, and will permeate our strategy for the next 20 years at the Port of Santos. We are committed to promoting port operations of excellence that are in synergy with the environment, the well-being of people and local communities, and with integrity and transparency,” says the manager.
The BTP Socio-environmental Report is based on the 2021 Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) reporting standards and aligns BTP’s activities with the United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
